Background
In his 1999 report, "Towards an Urban Renaissance", Lord Rogers noted that urban regeneration was an extremely low priority for institutional investors. This led to the formation of English Cities Fund (ECf), created in conjunction with government to identify and break through the barriers to institutional investment and to pave the way for higher levels of private investment in the re-shaping of our towns and cities.
ECF aims to show that high-quality, mixed-use area-based regeneration schemes provide viable, attractive and worthwhile opportunities for institutional investors in the medium to long term, alongside lasting community benefits and environmental improvements.
LGP acts as Operator and are a stakeholder in the Fund.
